01. ARTILLERY & GRID MECHANICS

Battles take place across tactical grid ocean sectors (10x10 standard coordinate grid). Players alternate turns selecting coordinate target locks to fire heavy battery volleys against enemy hidden formations.

DIRECT HIT Deals full hull damage based on target armor thickness and shell caliber. Confirms enemy vessel presence at coordinate.
SPLASH SHOCK Near misses create water pressure waves, temporarily suppressing target turret traverse and generating sonar acoustic data.

02. HULL DURABILITY & SHIPYARD REPAIRS

Damaged vessels suffer reduced maximum speed and turret reload penalties. After battles, ships must undergo shipyard repairs utilizing Scrap metal and Coal forged in the War Economy Smelter module before redeployment.

03. ORDNANCE SELECTION & CALIBERS

Commanders load specialized ordnance crafted in their personal factory arsenal before engaging:

  • Armor-Piercing (AP): Maximizes damage against armored Dreadnoughts and Heavy Cruisers; ignores light belt deflections.
  • High Explosive (HE): Sets target superstructure ablaze, dealing damage over subsequent combat turns.
  • Star Shells: Non-lethal illumination flares revealing a 3x3 grid cluster shrouded in fog-of-war.
  • Acoustic Torpedoes: Linear water trajectory munitions that detonate upon intersecting any submerged or surface hull.

04. FOG OF WAR & RADAR PROTOCOLS

Enemy ship positions remain completely obscured until struck, illuminated by a Star Shell flare, or pinged by an active sonar / radar sweep. Tactical smoke screens can be deployed by Destroyers to re-conceal damaged vessels for 2 combat rounds.

05. TURN TIMERS & VICTORY CRITERIA

Each commander has 30 seconds to calibrate and confirm artillery coordinates. Exceeding the timer forces an emergency blind salvo fired into random coordinates. Total destruction of all enemy commissioned hulls results in immediate decisive victory and full salvage rights.
